Around his 50th birthday in 2005, after a serious illness and an operation, he had to make some changes in his life.

He enrolled in Old Master Technique wokshops with Mag. Klaus Müller at Akademie Stift Geras in 2013 and 2014.

An important inspiration were the books of David Leffel, which showed him a radical different approach to painting.

He paints portraits and stilllifes but most of all he likes to paint funny inspirations in the Old Master style, like Old Master cartoons.
